The combination of shitbags and modern digital technology is quite similar to the nightmarish partnership of the Taliban and nuclear arms. This is because losers often think of good ways to mess things up with them as the centerpiece of it all. I'm talking about those computer viruses that are now spreading themselves on handheld gizmos. Handheld computers are more vulnerable to viruses and worms because most of it have operating systems that don't have good enough security functions and features.
Monday, May 7. 2007
These handheld computers are prone to hacker attacks and various malware infections due to the lack of necessary security and anti-viral functions and features from the gizmo's operating system. Plus, the operating systems of these gadgets have not yet fully configured security measures when it comes to its bluetooth connectivity function. With a bluetooth-enable handheld device, hackers could easily crack their way through your operating system's weak security barrier. In addition, various malware are now designed to go around weak firewalls and other barriers so as to infect your system.

The most possible way a handheld device could be infected with malware is from a user's wireless internet musings. WiFi connectivity has not yet been fully configured so as to provide maximum security, and wireless internet connectivity on handheld computers are even worse when it comes to security standards! With this, you should always have a good anti-viral application installed on your handheld device. Also, make it a point to always turn it on, along with its firewall, so as to prevent any malware infections on your system.

With all these developments on technology, we are now able to access information through faster ways and means, not to mention communicate with each other in a more affordable manner. But oftentimes, these advances come bundled with a set of problems that it becomes hard to provide a formidable solution at the time it starts to do some serious damage. But we don't usually allow such problems to stop us from taking advantage of the convenience, speed, efficiency, and affordability such technologies provide us with. For instance, fast internet connections have provided us with a more affordable means of telephony through VoIP, and the security flaws we have yet to fix does not stop the businessmen of the world to tap this technology for their communication purposes.
But it's such a good thing we have these people who test out the security flaws of each technological innovation, especially when it comes to digital information access. One such man is Ollie Whitehouse, a researcher on security that involves information technology. He has developed a program called Red Fang specifically for this purpose.
The application, which he has given the name Red Fang, allows a person equipped with minor hacking skills to gain total access to the information on handheld computers. This is done through the handheld computer's bluetooth connectivity feature, a usual feature on most handheld devices. It first identifies the handheld gizmos that has bluetooth connectivity features within a certain range, and then the hacker could also identify which handheld computer has minimal security measures against hacker attack done through its bluetooth port. He stated that he has created this application so as to make it known to most people how improperly configuring a handheld computer's bluetooth security system could provide you with hacker troubles.

I just don't know why those damn virus programmers see their craft as a very profitable venture! Aside from the instance that they could ask for huge sums of cash, as well as the notoriety it gives them, the risk just isn't worth it! But if they're working for those anti-viral companies, I think they'd be more than compensated for what they're doing. Plus, since dial-up internet connectivity providers are going broke because of faster internet connections being more and more affordable and accessible, these stupid virus artists now view the world as a single network to prey on!
With the people of the world closely monitoring new advances of digital technology, virus artists seem to be updated on the current market as well! As handheld computers are getting more and more popular, these damn virus programmers are thinking of ways and means in which to exploit the market. Fairly recently, a new trojan, designed to wreak havoc on handheld computers, was discovered by a group of Russian experts. This trojan attaches itself to the system of a Windows-based handheld computer through the installation of a certain program. The trojan, named Brador, is created to steal the information it could find on your handheld device after it connects to the net. Well, at least I know how much more this damn craft could be profitable!

Efficient energy sources have been one of the prime concerns of scientists and technologists even today in the modern information age. Well, especially now that we all rely on electronic devices for our everyday ventures. People are now working on the road, equipped with electronic digital devices that increase their productivity and efficiency by a substantial amount. It also helps them be more flexible and reachable.
But, since we're all going mobile with these handheld electronic devices, an issue with these gizmos is battery life. I think you know what I mean when I say that I find it really frustrating to run out of batteries smack in the middle of an urgent phone call on my mobile phone or an internet video conference using my handheld computer. With this, I continue my discussion on how to properly manage the battery life of your handheld computer, which I have done so on my prior posts.
First, ever notice how much those alarms and sounds take out of your batteries? Well, improperly managed and monitored sound and alarm schemes can leave your batteries dead with just half of its battery life expectancy. This would inevitably lead you to more problems, especially if you use your handheld computer for business purposes and transactions. With this, it would yield best results of conserving precious battery power through properly managing your sound and alarm schemes. You should make it a point to turn off unimportant sound settings for each activity on your handheld computer, as well as alarms that can be turned off. Also, always remember that short and concise sound presets for each computer activity is just as effective as the long and loud sound presets. But, in using short alarm and sound presets, you are assured of longer battery life.

Yes, desktop and laptop manufacturers also develop handheld devices in direct relation to the needs of the general public. With this, acquiring one from a manufacturer experienced in the field of computing would definitely give you the best handheld computer in the market.
Compaq. Doesn't that brand name ring any bells? Yes, this corporation has been continually developing high-end electronic and digital devices for the world. They have released numerous gadgets with high quality standards. Plus, the gizmos from this corporation is assured not to compromise functionality for cost.
With the Compaq Aero 8000, you are provided with a good investment when it comes to your company's mobile computing needs. Well, handheld computers, not unlike PDAs, are one of those high-tech electronic gadgets which offer portability in efficiently gaining access to digital information and communication protocols. These machines are slightly larger than mobile phones, but a lot smaller than laptop PCs. Thus, these gizmos would greatly benefit those persons frequently on long and winding roads, traveling to a varied number of destinations.
Plus, these high-tech handheld computers have certain functions and features not to be found on portable computing machines. These devices have large display monitors, ports for internet connection hardware cards, and a larger keyboard compared to mobile phones and PDAs. In addition, I think you may have guessed that the greater number of these high-end gadgets are backed up by the Microsoft Windows C system. Yes, it has the Windows C for its operating system, thus providing access to, well, the different office applications available from Microsoft. No, definitely not the versions for desktop and laptop computers. Microsoft have developed a separate operating system for mobile devices. Thus, it has also developed a different version of its office applications. That is, office programs strictly for the handheld Windows C platform! So, you can efficiently use the Microsoft office suite comprised of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint on those high-tech handheld electronic gizmos with ease and convenience. Well, not to mention being mobile while in the process of using this handy information accessing and processing tool!

Digital information technology, with its rapid advances, did pave the way for faster and easier platforms for piracy, theft, and security risks involving information. These may be the negative outputs brought about by technological development. But such technological breakthroughs continuously yield more positive outputs for the convenience and efficiency of the human race and their self-sustaining purposes. Recently, certain accessibility and usability features strictly limited to handheld devices or computers running PocketPC operating systems were patented to the Microsoft Corporation.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office recently has given Microsoft Corporation a patent grant regarding certain functional revisions it came up with for handheld computers. With handheld computers running PocketPC, you would be getting certain features regarding the access buttons it has on its user interface. The patent includes pressing buttons at specified number of times and duration would provide specific functions in navigating your handheld computer. People with mouse-driven console computers need not fret, for such features are restricted to handheld devices which have PocketPC installed. With the limitations handheld computers have on access keys and functions, this patent is a sure bet when it comes to making handheld computers fully navigable and functional.

According to its creator, Nokia 9300 Smartphone is a mobile phone designed to enhance one's work style while complementing one's personal style. This model, which boasts of convenience at one's fingertips, is especially designed for the overloaded professionals. Let us dig what this phone can offer behind its sophisticated design.
Among its advantages are its 132x51x21 mm dimension, 167g weight and its capability to support GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks. It has an 80 MB free user memory, expandable up to 2 GB with an optional MMC card. Also, it has the ability to read and write Word Documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and includes Adobe Acrobat reader and Real Player. Among its utilities are Bluetooth data support, USB connectivity, and Infrared. Further, it supports SMS, MMS, fax and e-mail, HTML 4.01, and JavaScript 1.3.
On the other hand, Error 13 keeps popping up on this device. The message menu is not accessible until the text message is sent. To add to that, the phone hangs if an SMS comes while in making a phone call. Once it hanged, it cannot be reset by pressing the power button but by mere battery removal and reinsertion. Further, it has no vibration alert facility, no camera, and no Wi-Fi. The meat of the matter is that Nokia 9300 is first-rate in hardware but miserable in the software aspect.

Handheld computers are computers that are simple and light. Don't mistake them for calculators or laptops.
Handheld computers usually have less capacity in data processing than desktop computers. Modern personal digital assistants or PDAs can also be identified as handheld computers because some of them now have word processors. They can also connect to the internet and yes, they're very handy.
Although calculators are technically computers, they have small capacities so they don't really classify as a handheld computer. Laptops are not handheld computers because obviously, they don't really fit in the palm of your hands.
