Back when we had green-tinted monochrome monitors, literal floppy disks, etc, we wouldn't have known
digital information technology would be this big in just so much short a time! Now we have handheld computers, laptop PCs, mobile phones, and the like for our computing needs. These computing devices now also provide us with access to the information on the internet. But these devices also have increased the target platforms of those hackers and virus programmers on where to launch either their profit-induced attacks, or their power-boasting ventures!
With this, a company has released a security application for PDAs. Since PDAs are now a part of our lives, we would be needing more protection from those snoopers and viruses now, wouldn't we? Specially if we have all sorts of important information stored in those PDAs that we carry along each and every mobile minute of our lives! The application is called PDA Defense, which have also added more pressure on the developers of the program! After all, you should be giving a program this name if it actually secured the information a PDA user has on the device, as much as the entire system of the PDA itself! As for me, I just don't trust these
security programs, specially if their intended for use on handheld devices. I just make it a point to store the information that is very confidential and important on removable media devices. Plus, I make it a point to regularly create restoration points on my handheld devices, as much as on my desktop computer, just in case something goes haywire! If you don't have restoration features on your PDA, then I suggest you sell it to your not-so-techie friends and go buy yourself one with such a feature!
