As most of us are probably aware by now, handheld scanners are portable, small scanners that are basically used to manually sweep across documents and images to capture their content. The scanning part often needs several manual passes. So, unless you have unsteady hands, the scanned documents are most likely to come out perfectly. Such innovation on scanners, however, is only recommended for folks who need to take a scanning device with them.
One perfect example of an innovative handheld scanner is the Antec Attache Handheld Scanner. Antec is superbly very handy and is a prime tool for people who really need a reliable scanning device that can be used in any travel environment. A PCMCIA powered device, Antec Attache does not require AC batteries. As such, the very unique scanning tool is fit for folks who always travel abroad.
Antec Attache can handle almost all kinds of paper texts, while it can also be used for sharing, saving, and scanning of documents. If you will be scanning letter-size papers or business cards, rest assured that Antec can easily scan those kinds of papers. If you think that Antec handheld scanner is very expensive, you're wrong. Antec Attache is very affordable. Plus, it is very easy to use and install.

It is pretty obvious these days that handheld devices are very much in demand among people who are always in need of pocket-sized computing devices. An example of a popular handheld is the handheld PC. Such devices are really small, I tell you. However, it's like a desktop, mobile phone, and planner combined in one nifty package. So you see, it is very functional. With the variety of handheld models available today, desktop computers seem to be less favored by today's techie peeps.

Due to its varied functions and very small size, Fujitsu Siemens LifeBook P1510 is among the most preferred handheld PCs by people today. Business-oriented individuals will surely find such handheld device very functional, since it enables a user the freedom to take down notes; likewise, it is a very powerful mobile computer. Siemen's newest handheld PC is so small, it is even smaller than other savvy and chic PDA devices. Windows XP Tablet PC Edition functions are also crammed in such a small machine, which weighs less than one kilogram.

Other cool features of P1510 is the swivel screen clamshell form standard. This means that you can utilize the handheld PC as a tiny laptop or as a slate writing tool. Note that the screen is very sensitive due its passive digitizer technology. Any movement, even small moves from your fingers, are detected. P1510 has a superb tablet PC operating system, which gives recognition to its number of scribbling or writing benefits. As such, Siemens 1510 also runs a number of easy-to-use office applications that are especially chosen to suit your business and leisure needs.

I cannot imagine my life without my PDA or Personal Digital Assistant device. That piece of small gadget surely helps me with my personal undertakings and office tasks. As you may notice, the line of PDA products available in the market today vary according to style and PDA necessities. Since latest PDAs are so versatile, consumers, like me, will have a variety of alternatives and PDA brands to choose from. Of course, our choice of PDA device may be in terms of a PDA's features, different PDA models, and also the "price".

Since I always use my cellphone to make a series of calls in a day and I also use my email to do most of my business undertakings, I told myself that I need to have a PDA that has both features. I also wanted my PDA to be expensive, since I do not want to see other people with the same PDA as mine. As such PDA features in mind, I knew that Blackberry 7130e is the perfect PDA for me since it has all the necessary features I need, plus the fact that it's pricey.
Wednesday, May 9. 2007
As I have said, Blackberry 7130e is a very expensive PDA. So for those peeps who cannot really afford it and who do not necessarily need constant Internet access, 7130e is not the PDA for you. Well, I guess the price I paid for my PDA handy device is worth it, because I am also very particular with designs, and 7130e is superb with its non-stocky and slim style. It also features regular SMS messages and voice calls. In addition, Blackberry 7130e's call features are completely flexible due to its loud speaker options and Bluetooth compatibility.

The combination of shitbags and modern digital technology is quite similar to the nightmarish partnership of the Taliban and nuclear arms. This is because losers often think of good ways to mess things up with them as the centerpiece of it all. I'm talking about those computer viruses that are now spreading themselves on handheld gizmos. Handheld computers are more vulnerable to viruses and worms because most of it have operating systems that don't have good enough security functions and features.
Monday, May 7. 2007
These handheld computers are prone to hacker attacks and various malware infections due to the lack of necessary security and anti-viral functions and features from the gizmo's operating system. Plus, the operating systems of these gadgets have not yet fully configured security measures when it comes to its bluetooth connectivity function. With a bluetooth-enable handheld device, hackers could easily crack their way through your operating system's weak security barrier. In addition, various malware are now designed to go around weak firewalls and other barriers so as to infect your system.
Sunday, May 6. 2007
The most possible way a handheld device could be infected with malware is from a user's wireless internet musings. WiFi connectivity has not yet been fully configured so as to provide maximum security, and wireless internet connectivity on handheld computers are even worse when it comes to security standards! With this, you should always have a good anti-viral application installed on your handheld device. Also, make it a point to always turn it on, along with its firewall, so as to prevent any malware infections on your system.

You would never believe it but our ancestors way back then made use of extreme and risky navigating measures just to keep from getting lost. They used monumental landmarks and ingeniously created maps as their navigating tools. It's a good thing that those kinds of navigation practices are no longer applied and practiced today. Today's navigating task is easier compared to the exhausting and funny methods applied in the older times.
Friday, May 4. 2007
Today, there are numerous Global Positioning System devices produced and made available by handheld product manufacturers. With the emergence of GPS devices in the global market, everybody can easily acquire a pocket-sized device for navigating. Being lost is no longer a problem if one has a reliable GPS device in his pocket. Among the known and reliable GPS device manufacturers, Garmin GPS gadgets and products are my preferred tools for navigation.
Thursday, May 3. 2007
As I have said, Garmin is among the most reliable GPS models available in the market today. One of its best models is the GPSMAP 76CSx, that stores a microSD technology in its system. It is a superb GPS model for me, because it acquires faster satellite connection, even in locations that have hoards of tall buildings and trees. Another thing I like about the Garmin GPS devise is its beautiful and excellent color display feature. With its packed pixels, I am able to see the visuals clearly even under direct sunlight.

Internet connectivity nowadays is fast, wireless, and affordable that it has paved the way for mobile computing. But most handheld devices, specifically high-tech mobile phones and PDAs, are so fragile that one drop is all it takes for you to say goodbye to it! Thus, manufacturers are developing PDAs that could withstand even the most rugged terrain it could land itself on. But some have quite a limited set of functions and features which it has compensated for durability. Such a handheld PDA is the TDS Recon 400 Rugged PDA.
Tuesday, May 1. 2007
Most people need to be mobile in their specific chosen fields of interest. But with mobile computing now a possibility, these people who are usually exposed to actual rugged terrain are trying out handheld PDAs to their durability tests and all. The TDS Recon 400 Rugged PDA is indeed durable, yet it also has a set of very limiting functions and features. For one, it doesn't have enough system space to house the most necessary applications. The next thing is its memory capacity, which resembles the computing speed of old computing machines in the time of Lotus and WordStar.
Monday, April 30. 2007
The TDS Recon 400 Rugged PDA is a durable yet bulky handheld device. It could withstand a drop in a mud puddle, or even on a deep and rocky road. If you are actually exposed to such a damn rugged terrain most of the time, you should get this PDA rather than those PDA protectors that don't do shit for your PDA. But don't expect it to have the necessary functions that most handheld computing devices could offer you. After all, if durability has a price, it had to be limiting functions and features for this one!
Sunday, April 29. 2007
A good mobile phone has a shitload of functions and features bunched up in its system. This is true with most handheld computing devices and GPS machines, too. This is probably because the manufacturers of such gizmos see that people want more on a single gadget for communications and information access. But what they usually miss out on is the fact that the products they sell to the world should also be user-friendly, in the strictest sense of the word.
Saturday, April 28. 2007
GPS usability is usually the first thing that comes into my mind when scouting for a good and functional GPS machine. I would not want to spend my time on figuring out damn how to actually use it, you know. If I need the information from my GPS device, I would want to have it in the easiest and most convenient means possible. This would be true for most people, too. But bunching up a crapload of functions and features on a GPS device would not only slow down its functions and features, but it would also make it harder to use!
Friday, April 27. 2007
The functionality of an actual GPS gizmo should always be fast and effective. It should also have simple to operate functions and features, not to mention an easy to understand interface. Most people wouldn't want to spend so much time on figuring out damn how to access its main functions. For most people, they bought a damn GPS device so as to use it for a single purpose, and that's to know where they are through the fastest, most convenient, and easiest ways possible!
Thursday, April 26. 2007
Electronic gadget manufacturers are thinking of ways and means to profit on the evolving world of digital information. High-end mobile phones have a shitload of bunched-up features and functions while these gizmos keep getting smaller and smaller. But most manufacturers have not yet thought of integrating on their PDA gizmos the function of standalone installations of PDA programs. One such device is the Palm PDA.
Wednesday, April 25. 2007
You see, with a Palm PDA, a desktop computing machine is required to install programs and other whathaveyous on it. This is done by connecting it via USB to a desktop computing machine's USB port. Another method is via bluetooth connectivity. Some may even use infrared connections between their Palm PDA and their desktop computer. But the PDA should be bluetooth-enabled or infrared-enabled so as to access these options for connectivity. Plus, the desktop computer should have an infrared port or a bluetooth one.
Tuesday, April 24. 2007
The main disadvantage of Palm PDA is not being able to install applications while on the damn road. I thought these handheld gizmos promote wireless and mobile information access! How in hell could a person fully access its mobility and wireless functions and features when you need a damn desktop PC just to install programs on your PDA! Would that mean we should get a handheld computer over the Palm PDA? I do think so, you know.
Monday, April 23. 2007
Wireless internet access has changed the way we communicate with each other and entertain ourselves. We go around with handheld gizmos that play music, provide us with internet access, show damn good videos, and could even tell us where we are on the planet! But there are some add-ons to such handheld devices that ultimately defeats the purpose of these tools being portable! One such GPS accessory for the actual Visor PDA is the Geode, and it's just too damn bulky for comfort.
Sunday, April 22. 2007
The Geode fuckin' GPS Visor add-on has a damn lot of functions and features. It has its own data storage cards, two of them, that provide you with more room than the other GPS add-ons. This would be an advantage for Visor users since it would not eat off precious memory from your main handheld device. Plus, it offers fast downloading capabilities when it comes to accessing road maps of your immediate location. It also provides accurate information, and you could compare what you have stored in its memory cards to the information you get from your provider. The only booboo the manufacturers of this tool, GeoDiscovery, did was not to reduce its size!
Saturday, April 21. 2007
But, I think what the manufacturers of this GPS add-on did good was to provide their mapping software for both users and non-users of their equipment absolutely free from any charge whatsoever. Yes, the Geo-View free application can be installed on your Visor's actual main memory without the damn product on your handheld! This would allow you to gain the information you need, like the maps within your immediate area, quite accurately and downright faster than most GPS add-ons for handhelds. But, I think you should carry a bag, or something, to house your handheld and this tool since it's just too damn bulky for comfort!
